Abstract

Zeldovich-Novozhilov (ZN) model of nonsteady propellant combustion is the simplest system with distributed parameters admitting chaotic (i.e. basically turbulent) solutions.

It has been demonstrated that the bifurdation parameters whose variations lead to onset of turbulence are: sensitivity coefficients of the burning rate and the surface temperature to initial temperature; the amplitude and the frequency of external chamber pressure.

In the present work, it is also demonstrated that the another such parameter is the amplitude and the frequency of external radiant heat flux imposed on the propellant.
