Sensitivity Analysis of a Beam undergoing Uncertain Rotational Motion

Recent requirements for weight reduction of aerospace systems, being partly related to the environmental issues, are making the structures slenderer and the investigation of mechanical response due to the rigid motion is becoming important. Because of practical interest, the analysis of a rotating beam has been conducted from 1930’s. However, the transient response with the uncertainty involved in the system has not been well investigated. In this study analyses are performed for a rotating Euler-Bernoulli cantilever beam in which the angular velocity incudes uncertain variation.
