Abstract

In 90% of cases the aircraft uses conventional fuel. This fuel has limited life, high cost and pollutes. Therefore the humanity is trying to find another solutions. So there is a great demand of use of non-exhaustible unlimited source of energy like solar energy. Solar aircraft is one of the ways to utilize solar energy. Solar aircraft uses solar cell to collect the solar radiation for immediate use, but it also stores the remaining part for the night flight. This paper intends to stimulate research on renewable energy sources for aviation. In future I hope that the solar powered airplanes will replace the conventional aircrafts and could be used for all types of aerial monitoring and unmanned flights.
This article describes the power management of a UAV hybrid electric propulsion system. The constructive solution of UAV was already realized, calculated and designed, only theoretical. Also, for this prototype was imposed the constructive solution in accordance with the missions to be fulfilled.
This study is a part of a long work for my Ph.D, by which I proposed to make a prototype of a UAV equipped with a solar propulsion system that meets the requirements of missions specific to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, both the autonomy capabilities and the performance of the communication systems on and off the ground.
