Abstract

A schematic of the spacecraft transfer to the geostationary earth orbit (GEO) with the use of the reusable orbital transfer vehicle (OTV) with the subsequent use of the electric jet engines (EJE) is studied.

OTV in the reference orbit (altitude range from 190 km to 225 km) makes approach and docking with the spacecraft, OTV transfers the spacecraft in intermediate orbit and returns to the reference orbit, and the spacecraft flies to the GEO using the EJE.

The article presents the modeling results. The optimal EJEcontrol programs were obtained for various values of the parameters of the intermediate orbit. Estimates of the time spent on the delivery of various payloads to GEO are given.
