Abstract

The immediate vicinity of the Sun is the most promising area to flying on solar sails. If we approach the star, then the light pressure and, consequently, the control acceleration increase. However, in this area, there is also the highest heating of the sail surface, leading to its degradation. We used locally optimal control laws to change the trajectory, and we used a control program correction algorithm that uses the secondary angle of setting the sail to meet the restrictions on the steady surface temperature. Paper describes the results of the non-planar sail movement simulation taking into account these control features, perturbations, degradation, and restrictions on the sail surface temperature.
