Abstract

Considering the two-dimensional model of the HPA axis with distributed delays based on ACTH(adrenocorticotropic hormone) and CRH(corticotropin releasing hormone) we prove the existence of a unique equilibrium point and study the local stability.Taking several types of delay kernels into account we investigate the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions by using the method of multiple time scales.
