Analysis of a rotating elastic beam with uncertainties based on perturbation method

Abstract
An engineering structure and its operation inevitably include many types of uncertainties such as material properties, structural dimensions, velocity, acceleration, and direction. The perturbation method is employed to derive a set of differential equations to analyze the response of a rotating elastic beam with uncertainties. Numerical examples are presented where effects of the uncertainty are represented by the sensitivity of the resulting strain response with respect to the uncertain parameter.
